Not all Skin Tones are Created Equal

It was first performed experimentally for about twenty years before Laser Hair Removal became FDA approved and commercially available in the mid-1990s. Although there are many different types of lasers brands and manufacturers they all have one common interest. Laser Light is used to target the hair follicle which resides in the dermis layer of the skin. Of course there is also Electrolysis and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments that can effective remove hair, Laser Hair Removal is by far the most popular treatment for hair removal today.

 So when is a good time to start Laser Hair Removal Treatments?

Well, great question. There is never a bad to start Laser Hair Removal treatments however there are a few things you need to know and consider before you decide you want to be on the path to “hair free”. For one, hair grows in stages. This means that multiple treatments will be necessary for you to target each of your individual hair follicles. To go into this a bit deeper, hair grows a staggered pattern referred to as the Anagen, Catagen and Telogen phases. In short, while some hairs are growing, some are falling out, or in the process of falling out. This process changes every two to four months which is why multiple treatments are required, generally 6-9 treatments will permanently reduce unwanted hair although the treatment time between treatments is also a critical part of the elimination process.
